MORE DIGITAL MENTORS FOR MANSFIELD SHIRE

MACE is thrilled to announce that it has secured a significant grant from Good Things Foundation on a ground breaking Digital Mentor Program as part of the Be Connected program. This initiative aims to empower older residents in our community by providing them with personalised digital skills training and ongoing support.

The primary objective of the Digital Mentoring Program is to bridge the digital divide and ensure that all members of our community have equal access to essential digital resources and opportunities. With this generous grant, MACE will be able to train 46 dedicated digital mentors who will play a pivotal role in empowering residents with limited digital experience.

As technology continues to evolve rapidly, digital literacy has become an essential skill for participation in modern society. Unfortunately, many older adults face barriers in acquiring these skills. MACE is committed to breaking down these barriers and fostering a more inclusive and digitally empowered community.

The Digital Mentors will receive comprehensive training to better equip them in supporting residents with various levels of digital proficiency. Their role will encompass offering one-on-one guidance, conducting group workshops, and providing ongoing assistance to ensure that everyone can confidently navigate the digital landscape.

"We are delighted to have received this grant and to collaborate with Good Things Foundation”, said Kylie Richards, CEO at MACE. "Our Digital Mentor Program will serve as a catalyst for positive change in our community, empowering individuals who have been under-served in the digital realm. With the support of our skilled mentors, we are confident that our residents will embrace the advantages of technology with newfound confidence and enthusiasm."

The Digital Mentor Program is set to kick off in September, and MACE is excited about the transformative impact it will have on the lives of those participating. As a result of this initiative, we anticipate an increase in digital literacy rates, enhanced access to online services, improved communication channels, and enriched social connections.

MACE expresses its gratitude to Good Things Foundation for their collaboration and ongoing commitment to digital inclusion. Their support enables MACE to advance its mission and ensure that no member of our community gets left behind in this rapidly advancing digital age.
