This course teaches you the knowledge and skills required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines. CPR - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001)
This skill set describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. This course is also known as Level 2. This is the advised minimum requirement by Workplace Health & Safety Legislation for the workplace first aider.
The unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies to infants, children and adults.
Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID004)
The purpose of this course is to raise awareness of the allergy and anaphylaxis in the community. Graduates of Allergy and Anaphylaxis Awareness will be able to identify signs and symptoms of an allergic/anaphylactic reaction and assist a person experiencing a severe allergic reaction by providing emergency first aid using an adrenaline auto-injector device. In addition, they will identify allergen risks and develop risk minimisation plans for people where a duty of care is present.
