Mansfield Men’s Shed

Activities at Mansfield Men's ShedThe Mansfield Men's Shed is located in Erril Street open every Wednesday during school term from 9am to 12noon and from 1pm until 3pm.

All members of the community are welcome to use the Shed for their own projects or to drop in for a chat, a cuppa or some advice.

The Shed is well equipped with modern tools and machinery for both woodwork and metalwork projects. A small fee is charged to cover operational costs.

The Mansfield Men’s Shed is a member of the Victorian Men’s Shed Association www.vicmensshed.org and the Australian Men’s Shed Association www.mensshed.org

Mansfield University of the Third Age – U3A

Come and join Mansfield U3A and experience the pleasure of meeting new people in an informative, fun and relaxed environment.

When: Study Group meets 1st and 3rd Monday of each month

Where: Bev Close Room at the Mansfield Community Education Centre

Time: 10.45am for an 11.00am start

Cost: Full membership is $20 annual fee plus $1.00 each timer you attend. Associate membership fee is $5.00

Mansfield Neighbourhood House Playgroup

The Neighbourhood House Playgroup is an informal group which is operated by parents of young children and is registered with Playgroup Victoria www.playgroup.org.au

It provides the opportunity for young children to play with new friends, as well as take part in cooking and craft activities. It also provides the opportunity for mothers and fathers to meet new friends and share the joys of being a parent.

Parents are asked to bring a piece of fruit per child.

Attendance is casual, so families may drop in. Everyone is welcome.

Time: 10am – 12noon

Cost: $2 per child, $4 for two kids and then just $5 if you have three or more children

Venue: Community Centre (Erril Street)

High Country Quilters

This is a fun social group who meet over sewing machines, knitting needles and conversation each week.

Participants can work on their own or community projects such as the Quilts for Kids with Cancer project. Machines are available for use or BYO machine.

When: Tuesdays during school term

Where: Craft Room at the Men’s Shed in Erril Street

Time: 10am – 2pm

Cost: $5.00 per session

Mansfield Centrelink Agency

Your local Centrelink Agency is located within the Mansfield Community Education Centre. Hours of operation are Monday 10am to 5pm and Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

The Agency provides free self-help facilities where customers can conduct their business with Centrelink. This includes services such as:

  • providing information products, forms and brochures
  • access to a telephone dedicated to the Centrelink Call network
  • facsimile/photocopy facilities for customers to forward material to Centrelink or other related uses (such as, fax a job resume)
  • an internet enabled computer and printer for customers to conduct their business.
  • assistance and guidance to customers in the use of self service products, (for example, internet for online service, automated telephone systems and a fax for lodging forms)
  • accepting claim forms and other documentation required to be lodged with Centrelink
  • responding to customer enquiries and providing assistance, guidance or referral as appropriate.
  • Agents can sight and photocopy Proof of Identity (POI) documents so that the customer no longer has to send their original documents in the mail to support their claims.

Note: Centrelink Agents are not Centrelink staff and cannot:

  • make any payments or decisions about payments
  • review, assess or vary payments
  • access Centrelink customer information
  • issue Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBTs) or Health Care Cards.
